Nurses: Drop the Gossip

Nursing Career Tip: It might seem like a harmless way to vent frustrations, but gossiping about fellow colleagues, your supervisors, or patients can create a toxic work atmosphere.

Stop gossip by preventing it from spreading. Opt not to repeat what you hear. If someone starts conversing with you about the private life of others, tell the person you are not comfortable engaging in that type of conversation and then change the subject.

Keep the focus on providing exceptional patient care by fostering a healthy, gossip-free environment.
